FORM EXPLORATION

For this project i was asked to explore variations on a classic tooling. I added my lens of 3d and animation to a physical product.

Inspired by the rotation gimble in all 3D programs. I took the tread pattern and simply rotated it 30 degrees so it wrapped up onto the sidewall.

Inspired by the Catmull Clark method of smoothing polygons. This Idea starts as the original tooling at the toe and then fades into lower points of detail

Pixels, a common occurrence in the digital realm. I wanted to bring this occurence into the physical world

Inspired from the animation principle of "Squash and stretch".

Playing again with the idea of digital distortion i used a wave deformer as a digital take on a platform.
